Hey there, I’m Lauren - social worker, neurodivergent human, and parent to two neurodivergent kiddos. With over 15 years of experience and a front-row seat to the NDIS rollercoaster (as both a parent and a professional), I’ve seen the good, the confusing, and the downright exhausting.
Neuroaffirming Resources and Supports grew out of all of that - the things that actually helped, the stuff that fell flat, and the conversations I kept having with families about what was missing. My hope? That this little space offers resources that feel flexible, kind, and built around what really matters: helping therapy feel more like a fit (and less like a fight) for your whole family.
Early intervention was sold to me pretty hard when we first started figuring out the whole Autism and ADHD thing. It felt like if I didn’t jump in quickly - and with the right team of therapists - I might somehow be letting my child down. So we did the weekly sessions with a Key Worker… but honestly? It didn’t feel like it was doing much. My son’s therapist didn’t really see him. There was no real progress, just a lot of ticking boxes.
Back then, we didn’t have NDIS - so we also didn’t have much choice. We just had to go along with the structure and hope for the best.
Things shifted when I started working with my daughter’s Key Worker under the NDIS. She didn’t want to engage (fair enough - it’s a big ask to welcome a stranger into your safe space). So instead, I worked directly with the Key Worker myself. And that changed everything.
I learned how to support both my kids in ways that felt respectful, effective, and actually helpful. I finally had space to pause and reflect - on what they needed, what I needed, and what was actually working in our home. That’s when it clicked: therapists might spend an hour a week with our kids, but we are there every day.
That realisation gave me permission to stop chasing therapy and start building something that worked for us. We didn’t need a million appointments. We didn’t need to take time off school or work. We didn’t need to sit on endless waitlists.
I could be the bridge between what the professionals knew and what I knew as their mum. Therapy could fit around our lives - not the other way around.

I saw a chance to do things differently - to offer therapy support that’s flexible, respectful, and actually works for real families. Through Neuroaffirming Resources and Supports, my goal is to help you feel confident in supporting your child to reach their goals, in their way, at their pace.
And just as importantly? I want to give you the time, space, and tools to truly connect with your child - to work with them, not just for them. Because when we’re supported to grow together, that’s where the real magic happens.

At Neuroaffirming Resources and Supports, we’re all about creating spaces - at home, in schools, and in therapy - where neurodivergent kids feel seen, supported, and celebrated.
Everything here’s built to fit around your routines and your life - because therapy should feel like a natural extension of home, not a disruption to it.
We believe every family deserves access to high-quality, neuroaffirming support - no matter where you live, how busy life is, or what your circumstances look like. Our goal is to remove barriers, not add to them. Because the best support? It happens when families feel confident and equipped to create environments where their children can truly thrive.
It’s all about empowering you to guide the journey, with us walking beside you as you go.
We would like to acknowledge the traditional owners of the lands on which we work. We also pay our respects to Elders both past, present and future for they hold the memories, traditions, culture and hopes of Australia.
